I joined the New Mexico-based production remotely to help craft the world of high schooler Ziggy Katz. Ziggy creates his own merch and performs songs online for his fans on a social media app called Hi-note – both very fun to make. In contrast, the world of Ziggy’s mother is a domestic violence shelter. A real-life shelter graciously allowed the film to use a lot of their own content, but it was my job was to re-brand it as our fictional “Spruce Haven.” As per, there were still heaps of paperwork and minutiae to make. Eisenberg’s feature film directorial debut, WYFSTW premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2022 and was released in January 2023 by A24.
