This was a treat to work on remotely from LA with so many of my NYC art department friends. The graphics were pretty straight-forward: high school and basketball team gak galore. Since the film is set in Chinatown, many of my graphics required Chinese characters. Working in another language presents a unique challenge for a graphic designer: making sure that the translations you’re using are as accurate as possible. Written and directed by Eddie Huang, Boogie was released theatrically in March 2021.
